Plot:

En esta ópera de Wagner, Alberich, un enano nibelungo, intenta seducir a tres ninfas que juegan en el río, quienes se burlan del aspecto poco atractivo del enano. Éste, en venganza, roba el oro que yace bajo el río, cuando las ninfas le explican que con él se puede forjar un anillo para dominar el mundo.
