The countdown to the European Athletics Championships Barcelona 2010 has begun. With less than four months before the event, multi-day passes and daily tickets are now on sale to watch one of the most important athletics events in the world, which will make Barcelona a reference point in international sports once again.

The Championships, which will be held in Spain for the first time, will welcome of the 50 European Athletics member federations, and approximately 1,500 athletes, including Olympic and World champions. Forty-two different events will take place in the Montjuïc Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, and five more – the three walk events and the two marathons - will be held in the city centre. These five events start and finish will be at Passeig Picaso. The opening ceremony on 26 July will be staged at the Montjuïc Magic Fountain and it will be of free access.
